How big is the effort to move from FireWire to USB3 Vision?

That depends on the specifications. For instance, if you choose a camera with the same sensor the main effort is only on the software side. The effort spent on software adjustments depends on the software version: If our pylon Camera Software Suite is used, the development time might be from nearly zero to some man-days. If it is a SDK from a different camera vendor it might be some man-weeks. But even this effort can be worth spending it: the cost savings could amortize the one-time effort after half a year.

Over all we can say that with our USB3 Vision cameras we really tried to make the switch as easy as possible.
