Easy creation in pylon Viewer
Create image processing functions quickly and easily in the pylon Viewer Workbench, where you can select, insert, configure, combine, and test individual processing steps as vTools. Save image processing functions created in the Workbench as a Recipe file and use them in your own applications.
Precise adjustment on live images
The vTools Workbench allows you to test and adjust individual image processing steps or entire processing sequences—all while manipulating a live image. This allows you to quickly and easily achieve optimal performance and accuracy for your application.

Flexible integration with pylon APIs
Popular pylon APIs allow you to integrate the image processing functions into your own applications. They offer a variety of simple functions for loading and executing recipe files, allowing you to evaluate the results in your program code. You can also adjust your application settings with the recipe file using the pylon Viewer—without having to modify or recompile the application code.

To activate the full functionality of pylon vTools without time restrictions, you can use this website to purchase a commercial license.
You can request an evaluation license by clicking here: Request evaluation license. The Basler team will then contact you to send you the license.
An evaluation license allows you to include all pylon vTools in your application and run them for 180 days for a few minutes each within your application.
The license versions differ in functionalities, performance and price. The Starter license version has a limited range of functions and features but is available at a low price. The Basic and Pro versions offer more functionalities and performance but at a higher price point. Check out the "Specifications" section of the vTool to decide which license version best fits your use case and try it out for yourself with a free 80-day trial.
You will receive a ticket number by email for requested commercial or evaluation licenses. This number allows you to access the ordered licenses within our license portal and import them to a dongle or directly to the system with the pylon installation. More detailed information will be included in the email with the ticket number.
Evaluation licenses do not require a dongle. Once imported, they are bound to the system and are not replaceable or transportable.
Commercial licenses can be bound to a computer or a dongle. System-bound licenses do not require additional hardware, but are bound to one system. Dongle licenses can be moved from one system to another. You can choose what works best for you.
One license is valid for one pylon installation, regardless of the number of connected cameras.
Since vTools are an extension of pylon, they will work with all Basler 2D cameras that are supported by pylon.
