Recently Basler worked jointly with NXP to realize a powerful and cost-optimized vision system based on NXP’s new SoC i.MX 8M Plus : It features a dual camera Image Signal Processor (ISP) providing real-time processing for crystal clear images and a neural network accelerator delivering up to 2.3 TOPs for extensive machine learning capabilities. In combination with the new Basler camera modules, the resulting vision system provides the perfect solution for intelligent, vision-based machine learning applications.

dart BCON for MIPI Camera Modules
The Basler dart BCON for MIPI camera modules have an integrated ISP and are available with 5 MP and 13 MP resolution. Basler's proprietary BCON for MIPI interface is tailor-made and provides easy integration based on the MIPI CSI-2 video interface standard. Our BCON for MIPI camera modules are just as easy to commission as any plug-and-play camera interface, such as USB 3.0.

Add-on Camera Kits
Our add-on camera kits consist of a dart BCON for MIPI camera module (5, 8 or 13 MP), a BCON for MIPI to Mini SAS adapter, a lens and a cable. Thanks to the appropriate driver, implementation has never been easier. The kits support the NXP Evaluation Boards with the processors i.MX 8QuadMax, i.MX 8MQuad, i.MX 8M Mini and now also i.MX 8M Plus.

Use Case: "Automated Retail Check-out Terminal Equipped with AI Software"
The technology for embedded vision systems is becoming more and more compact, but at the same time more powerful. One area that benefits from this is retail. Based on our new dart camera modules and NXP’s i.MX 8 processor, we have developed a live demo of an automated payment terminal with AI software for the retail trade.
