Basler offers additional software alongside the Basler pylon Camera Software Suite for getting your camera up and running.
Camera Configuration Tool Plus (CCT+)
The CCT+ is used for Camera Link cameras in the Basler sprint, A and L series. For the Basler aviator, Basler racer and Basler ace Camera Link model, please use the Basler pylon driver packet. The Release Notes contain a detailed list of cameras that can be configured with CCT+.
Please read the Release Notes before starting with the installation of CCT+.
If you want to upgrade from an older version of CCT+ software, please first remove the old version before installing the new one.
CCT+ runs on all PCs with Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 in both 32 and 64-bit versions.
You can download CCT+ software and Release Notes here.
Basler Binary Protocol Library
The Basler Binary Protocol Library (BBPL) is an extension of the clALLSerial/clSerial API defined in the Camera Link standard. The BBPL expands this API to include practical functions for reading and writing the register on Basler Camera Link cameras.
The BBPL was developed to accompany the Basler aviator camera family. It can however also be used with current Camera Link models (ace, racer, sprint) and older camera series (A400k, L400k, L800k). BBPL contains the Basler Binary Protocol II for those older models. The complexity of this protocol is hidden from the user, ensuring that BBPL remains very easy to use.
Executing the downloaded program initiates a normal Windows installation routine. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation. Programming examples and documentation can be found here: Start > All Programs > Basler Vision Technologies > clBBProtocol Library
The Basler Binary Protocol Library (BBPL) can be downloaded here.
Basler IP Camera Software
Basler offers a selection of software tools for Basler's network cameras, including device discovery, IP configuration, lens selection, and more.
The BIP Finder is a tool for identifying cameras on the network and for performing IP configuration for the camera. The BIP finder can also be used to apply a firmware update for multiple cameras at once.
You can download the BIP Finder here.
The Basler IP Camera Control is an ActiveX control that you can install in Internet Explorer to display videos in the MJPEG, MPEG4 or H.264 formats directly within the browser. This control is normally launched when the camera is first started. In some cases factors like the firewall settings can prevent this, however. In such cases the control can be downloaded here and installed manually.
The firmware for Basler network cameras can be downloaded here.
The BIP Calculator makes it easy to find the right Basler IP camera and lens for your specific application. You can also use the tool to estimate the necessary network bandwidth and memory requirements.

Basler ToF Software
To operate the Basler ToF Camera you will need the Basler ToF software. The ToF software is available for both Windows as well as for x86-based Linux systems. In addition to the GigE Vision drivers the software package contains the Basler pylon Viewer, which can be used to configure the ToF camera and adjust the settings to your specific needs. The Basler ToF software is based on the GenICam standard and allows access to the camera via the standardized interface GenTL. A comprehensive collection of C ++ and C # sample code demonstrates how to integrate the camera into your application. Please find more information on the ToF software and the respective versions in the release notes.
