By connecting single vTools together, you can create and test complete image processing workflows. Precise adjustment with live image

Individual processing steps of pylon vTools as well as the entire image processing workflow of a recipe file can be tested and precisely adjusted within the Workbench on the live image. This allows you to quickly and easily achieve optimal performance and accuracy for real-world situations.

1. Try vTools in pylon Viewer

To try pylon vTools all you need to do is download and install pylon. After installation, you can try pylon vTools directly in the pylon Viewer for 80 days without any additional licenses. So you can immediately start creating recipe files, tuning them to your application and saving them.

2. Test integration with pylon API

If you want to test the integration of recipes created in the pylon Viewer into your own applications via the pylon API, you need an evaluation license. This allows you to integrate recipe-files created in the pylon Viewer from your application for 180 days and run them for a few minutes.

3. Acquire the licenses you need

Once you have identified the most suitable pylon vTools for your application, you can purchase the licenses for commercial use in your application. You only need licenses for the functionalities that you actually use. A developer license or licenses for basic functionalities are not necessary for this.

How are licenses delivered and installed?

For requested commercial or evaluation licenses you will receive a ticket number by email. With this number you can pick up the ordered licenses via our license portal and import them directly to a dongle or to the corresponding system with the pylon installation. You will receive more detailed information in the email together with the ticket number.

Do I need a dongle for the licenses?

Evaluation licenses do not require a dongle; once imported, they are bound to the system and are not replaceable or transportable.

Purchased licenses require a USB dongle onto which they are loaded. They are bound to the dongle and can be transported between systems together with the dongle simply by unplugging and replugging the dongle.

For how many installations or cameras is one license valid?

One license is valid for one pylon installation, regardless of the number of connected cameras.

With which cameras do vTools work?

As an extension of pylon, vTools work with all Basler 2D cameras that can connect with pylon.

What are the differences between Starter, Basic and Pro licenses?

The license versions differ in functionalities, performance and price. The Starter license version has a limited range of functions and features but is available at a low price/free of charge. The Basic and Pro versions offer more functionalities and performance but at a higher price point.
