What was your career path at Basler?

After completing my studies in 2012, I started directly in Firmware Development as a software developer. A year later, I took over the role of git integrator.

What inspires you about software development at Basler?
There are always new topics, which makes the work exciting. Basler always tries to focus on the latest technologies and to advance technologically. This also creates challenges for me and I learn new things. It’s great that you have the freedom to implement your own ideas. I can basically make my own decision on how to organize my work.

What do you particularly appreciate about Basler as an employer?
The collegial work atmosphere, the company culture and the flexibility. And I had the opportunity to take longer trips. It was time for me to experience something new. I traveled through America for nine great weeks and that was an incredible experience!

Michael Stickel – Embedded Developer- R&D

What was your career path at Basler?
I came from the South to the North in about 2012. Since then, I’ve been developing embedded systems in Neumünster, which I really enjoy doing here.

And why embedded systems in particular?
Because to me it represents a very large leap in development. I can work very closely with the hardware as a software developer. At the same time, I’m partly responsible for the driver adaptation, developing specific interfaces for the customers’ own software. You learn a lot, since the customers come from the most diverse industries and concerns.

What do you appreciate about the development at Basler?
You always deal with the latest technologies on the market. We often have interfaces and processors on our desks directly from the manufacturers, which no one else on the market has handled yet. Of course, this is also sometimes “bleeding edge”. But that’s exactly what is great about it. We’re often involved in new technologies from the start so we can collaborate on them directly.
