Our employees
As a company, we bear special responsibility for our employees; their commitment and creativity are our most valuable resource. That is why we invest in a good working environment, learning and development opportunities, health management and measures to ensure a good work-life balance.

Employee satisfaction
The well-being of our employees has always been a special priority at Basler. It has been a topic close to the heart of company founder Norbert Basler, as well as our management. We strive to maintain and--wherever possible--even improve the well-being of all employees. This is also reflected in the excellent employer ratings Basler receives again and again which help us attract and retain committed and talented employees.
In addition, we regularly measure subjective employee satisfaction in internal surveys that cover different dimensions of the daily work routine. For the continuous evaluation and improvement of working conditions and well-being, Basler has established a working environment management role specifically dedicated to this goal. For this purpose, the working environment manager also collaborates closely with our external cooperation partners, in particular with the Fürstenberg Institute and the "Career and Family" foundation. Our generous part-time arrangements and the option of a sabbatical play a large part in achieving a good work-life balance.

Career and family
At Basler, achieving a healthy balance between professional and private life is part of our everyday practice. We offer employees flexible working time models tailored to their individual life stages. These include working from home, flexible hours, part-time work, and leave options such as sabbaticals, parental leave, and care leave. A successful career is also possible on a part-time basis.
For us, family-friendliness goes beyond flexible working hours. In cooperation with the “Beruf und Familie im HanseBelt” foundation, we provide qualified emergency childcare – if required, even on site in our own “children’s room”. We also support employees who care for relatives.
Since 2011, our commitment to balancing work, family, and private life has been recognized by the "berufundfamilie" audit of the charitable Hertie Foundation.

Health management for a healthy workplace
Our occupational health management system takes a holistic approach. The mental well-being of our employees is just as important to us as their physical health.
This expectation led to the creation of the health management workshops, conducted every 12 to 18 months. For one entire day, the company's various teams and departments take up questions concerning the workplace design, the work organization, and the cooperation within the team and with their executive managers. Jointly developed measures are implemented by the teams or departments themselves.
An external partner, the Fürstenberg Institute of Hamburg, has been commissioned to advise our employees and their relatives to all questions of life — professionally, anonymously and at no cost.

HanseBelt Initiative – strengthening the region together
More than 60 companies along the Hamburg – Copenhagen axis, from Bad Segeberg to Wismar, have united to establish the HanseBelt as the European corridor of the future.
We all signed a joint charter that commits us to a modern, open and authentic corporate culture centered around the needs of people. It is intended to serve as a hallmark of the entire region, and to raise the attractiveness of the HanseBelt sustainably. Because our goal is to draw the finest minds to our region.
We have developed “Traumjob”, an employer brand used to draw dedicated employees into a network of regional employers offering good working conditions and individual opportunities for development.

Further development and learning
Another important aspect of creating shared and sustainable value is investing in the further training and development of our employees. In an unpredictable economic environment, we ensure that our employees can take on new tasks and roles and adapt to changing conditions. This cultivation and development of skills and competencies is essential for us to achieve sustainable growth and long-term success. Basler attaches great importance to a flexible learning environment in which learning opportunities can be integrated into the daily work.
Corporate culture
The ongoing cultivation of our corporate culture also plays an important role in this. An atmosphere of mutual esteem and respectful cooperation helps us to ensure that challenges are openly discussed and addressed, that all employees find their way in their daily work, and that they can develop their abilities in a benevolent and supportive working environment.
