Machine vision for your Siemens automation system
Thanks to our close cooperation with Siemens, we offer a consistent and future-proof solution for machine vision in automation. Users benefit from fast commissioning, centralized management, and flexible scalability - without any interface effort.

Basler Vision Connector:
Makes Basler cameras ready for use
The Basler Vision Connector (BVC) offers a variety of functions for configuring a Basler camera, such as: vignetting correction, a sharpness indicator, and a bandwidth manager. The underlying docker container technology ensures easy deployment, scalability, and flexibility. The Basler Vision Connector is available in two versions for single and multi-camera setups via the Siemens Xcelerator Marketplace:

Basler pylon vTools:
Enable integrated image processing
pylon vTools are powerful add-ons for image processing and analysis. Robust image analysis pipelines for quality assurance and tracking can be created with a simple drag-and-drop interface. Within the Basler Vision Connector, these "recipes" can be seamlessly linked to available cameras directly on the shop floor. vTools offer flexible integration, making them well-suited for a wide range of applications.

Machine vision is integrated "from a single source" via the Siemens Xcelerator Marketplace - without any interface programming. Detailed instructions on the Basler Vision Connector and pylon vTools can be found in Basler's Product Documentation.
In addition to camera control and integrating image processing, we also offer complete vision solutions on request, for example with FPGA programming, light control, or image analysis. Simply use the contact formbelow.
How machine vision works in the Siemens ecosystem

Connect the camera(s) in the Vision Connector
Download the Basler Vision Connector - expandable with a multi-camera license - directly via the Siemens Edge Management Platform. Thanks to preconfigured default values, setup is a breeze and your Basler cameras are immediately and seamlessly connected to compatible Siemens Industrial Edge Devices.

Set camera parameters and start image acquisition
Connect your Basler GigE cameras to the cable and the camera(s) will automatically appear in the Basler Vision Connector web interface. You then have the option to either have your settings automatically and intelligently optimized for each individual camera or to adjust the camera settings manually.

Set up image processing
The pylon Viewer (Download pylon) allows you to set up an image processing design using individual pylon vTools via drag-and-drop - to read all the desired information from your images. Save the design as a recipe.
Learn in this tutorial how to get started with pylon vTools.
Integrate pylon vTools in the Basler Vision Connector
Upload the recipe created in the pylon Viewer to the Basler Vision Connector. Link the recipe to the relevant camera to begin image processing.

Configuration setup in the Siemens Industrial Edge Flow Creator
The Siemens Industrial Edge Flow Creator can be used to set up and control the pipelines of Basler cameras. It can read out image processing results from the pylon vTools or further integrate them.
It is also possible to directly adjust the various camera parameters for your individual application or to start/stop streaming.
Additional information and test files are available in Basler's Product Documentation.
