The Basler Light Darkfield-100OD-IR provides uniform, horizontal light distribution and features a light-emitting surface with a diameter of 100 mm. The LED color is infrared (IR) with a peak wavelength of 850 nm. Via the M8 connector, the IP54-rated darkfield light can be used either as a standalone light source or—with a Basler Sync Cable—as fully integrated, camera-controlled lighting.
When used with a Basler Sync Cable, the lighting can be controlled directly via the connected Basler camera without an external lighting controller. This reduces integration and cabling efforts as well as the complexity of the vision system.

The lighting can be operated without camera control, either in continuous mode or with triggered light. Optionally, direct current-controlled operation of the LEDs using an external controller is possible.
Darkfield lighting for industrial use is a horizontal ring light with light emitted from the sides at very shallow angles. It is suitable for detecting surface defects, embossed or stamped structures, and barcode inspection.
