Data protection declaration
We are pleased that you have visited the website of Basler AG and thank you for your interest in our company, our products, and our information.
The protection of your private sphere in the use of the Basler AG website is an important issue for us. For this reason we are in agreement with the applicable legal regulations for the protection of personal information and data security.
Data processing takes place in compliance with the following principles:
If a web page of Basler AG is accessed, the following data is saved for a period of 7 days on the web server (managed by Kernpunkt GmbH, Köln):
Page, from which the file is requested
- Name of the file
- Date and time of the query
- Transfered amount of data
- Access status (file transfered, file not found, etc.)
- Description of the type of web browser used
- IP address of the requesting computer
Google Tag Manager
We also use Google Tag Manager as a tool for analyzing user behavior. The solution provides an interface for harnessing pre-assigned website tags together with pseudonymized user data.
When the Tag Manager detects a page load event, a Google Analytics tag is issued based on the software's configuration. The data in that tag is then returned to the Google Analytics Server to allow for a pseudonymized evaluation of user behavior. While this process draws upon Google Analytics codes, it has also been enhanced with additional IP anonymization, described below.
Please note that we have expanded our use of Google Analytics on this website to include the following snippet of code: "_gaq.push (['_gat._anonymizeIp']);". This code ensures that IP addresses are only gathered in anonymous form (known as 'IP masking').
We also use Google Analytics to assess data from AdWords for statistical purposes. If you wish to opt out of this, please deactivate it in the Ad Preferences Manager (https://www.google.com/settings/ads/).
The websites of Basler AG use the Google Universal Analytics web analysis service as well as Google Remarketing, both products of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043.
The IP anonymization is activated for the Basler AG website in order to guarantee the anonymous recording of IP addresses. Your IP address is then abbreviated by Google before being transfered within the member states of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The complete IP address is abbreviated and transfered to a server in the USA only in exceptional cases.
On behalf of Basler AG, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the Basler website, to compile reports about website activity, and to provide further information about the website use and the services connected to Internet use with respect to Basler AG. The information may be transmitted by Google to third parties where legally required or third parties are processing that data on behalf of Google.
On behalf of Basler AG, Google and third party providers will place Basler advertisements on the internet. The data collected by Google Analytics and Google Remarketing are used to place those ads.
To prevent your data from being collected by Google Analytics during your visit to the Basler website, you may download and install the browser plug-in provided at the following link: (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en).
You can alternatively prevent Google Analytics from capturing data by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie is then set that prevents the future recording of your data when visiting this site. Click here to opt-out from Google Analytics.
Google Analytics opt-out is active.
Based on your visit to our website, we use cross-device remarketing technologies from Google in order to display appropriate advertising for you on other websites.
How does remarketing work?
When you visit our website, it is possible that Google accesses recognition features for your browser or device (e.g., creating a so-called browser fingerprint), analyzes your IP address or stores a recognition feature in the form of a small text file (e.g. a third-party cookie) on your device. It is also possible that Google connects your visit to our websites with one or more of these recognition features and stores it in order to show you our ads on other websites.
The recognition features described above are designed as a pseudonym that Google may use to recognize your device on other websites. If you visit a website that participates in Google’s advertising display network (which means it displays advertising on behalf of Google), Google can recognize your device and your browser based on the aforementioned features.
We may also create remarketing tags for our websites. This means that we use keywords that contain information about the contents of the displayed page (such as product or service categories) on our websites. These keywords do not show any personal or sensitive information. Google receives and stores these keywords with the aforementioned recognition features. When you visit a website that is tagged with keywords for a certain product category, Google stores these keywords and assigns them to your recognition features.
This allows us to activate advertising on other websites that is aligned with the pages you visited on our websites. So if you are visiting another website that participates in Google’s advertising display network, Google can use the recognition features and the keywords stored with these features to identify whether any of our ads should be displayed to you and if so, which kind.
You can find more information about Google’s remarketing technologies at https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.
How does cross-device remarketing work?
If you log in to Google’s services with your own login data, using your own Google account(s), Google can connect the recognition features from different browsers and devices to each other. In other words, if Google has created a separate recognition feature for each laptop, pc, smartphone or tablet that you use, these recognition features can be assigned to each other as soon as you use (or have used) a Google service with your login data. This is how Google can specifically display our advertising campaigns beyond individual devices. However, Google will only do this if you have agreed to this data processing by Google in the past.
How can I opt out of the advertising?
You can opt out of this advertising format at any time. In order to do so, access the website https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922 and deactivate personalized advertising. Please note that these settings may not affect all devices and browsers. You can get more detailed information at https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922.
Google & Bing Conversion Tracking
The Basler websites use Google Adwords Conversion Tracking as well as "Bing Ads" Conversion Tracking from the Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA.
Conversion Tracking makes it possible to measure the entire number of users who have clicked on a Google or Bing advertisement from Basler AG and who have been further directed to a page provided with a Conversion Tracking Tag. Basler AG does not retain information with which it is possible to personally identify users.
When you click on a Google or Bing advertisement on our website, a cookie for Conversion Tracking is then set on your computer by Google Adwords and Bing Ads. These cookies are no longer valid after 30 days and are not capable of personally identifying the user. Your internet browser also includes settings to prevent cookies from being stored.
Pardot / Salesforce
pardot, a marketing automation tool created by Pardot LLC, 950 East Paces Ferry Road, Suite 3300 Atlanta, GA 30326, USA is used on the Basler website.
pardot also uses the cookie tracking previously described to collect information about the use of the website. Your internet browser also includes settings to prevent cookies from being stored. Blocking cookies can however lead to limited functionality by the Basler website.
Further information about the handling of personal information and data from the European Union by Pardot LLC can be found here: http://www.pardot.com/company/legal/privacy-policy/
Data from forms
Personal data which is entered into a form on the Basler AG website is used to establish contact with you and to provide you with the requested information.
If you consent, we will transmit the information you provided to us to our subsidiaries and relevant distributors for marketing purposes. No further transmission of personal data to third parties will be done. You may object to further use at any time in the future without stating a reason, by revoking your consent.
To do so, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
Declaration of Consent Regarding Privacy
By submitting a form, you agree that the information in respect of your usage of the Basler Web pages (e.g., pages visited and duration of visit to the respective pages, etc.) that is stored by pardot under a pseudonym may be aggregated with your personal data (form-based information) upon submitting this form.
The aim of aggregating usage information with your personal data is to get to know you better as a potential customer and to make information that is of particular interest specifically to you available to you on our Web pages and via email.
You may, at any time and with future effect, refuse – without providing substantiation – to allow the data aggregated in this manner to continue to be used by revoking your consent. To do so, please contact: email@example.com
Use of Social Plugins from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+
The websites of Basler AG feature integrated Share buttons. These buttons enable you to recommend the page contents via social media services such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+.
All Share buttons on Basler websites are classic links created as part of c‘t magazine's "Shariff" project. For improved privacy protection, the button only establishes contact between the social media service and the user once the share button is clicked.
To display the total count of likes/shares, the Shariff button functions as an interim instance for the social media services. It is not your browser requesting the number of likes, but rather Basler's own website servers. Hence the address of the Basler server, not your IP address, is shown to the social media service. This then provides better protection of your privacy.
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ do not provide specific information about which data is transmitted in the use of their social plugins. Basler AG therefore has no knowledge regarding the content and scope of the transmitted data or its use by Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+. Please refer to the further information about this in the data protection regulations of the social media services which are found here: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+.
Your rights as the user
According to § 34 and § 35 of the German Federal Data Protection Law, as the user you ("affected person") have the right to demand information at any time about which data has been saved by us and for what reason this has been saved. You may furthermore report incorrect data or have such data deleted which is invalidly stored or no longer required.
Data protection requests
Our external company data protection officer is responsible for the compliance and monitoring of our data protection obligations. He is also available to you for further information at any time regarding data protection.
