Features of Stereo mini

This camera combines powerful 3D image processing with an exceptionally compact design. It delivers precise depth data for reliable navigation, obstacle detection, and object recognition. Its tight integration into our pylon Software ensures quick commissioning and flexible integration into existing systems.

Dimension and weight of Stereo mini

Compact size and light weight

With dimensions of 90 mm x 25 mm x 30 mm and a low weight starting at 97 g, the Stereo mini is one of the smallest stereo cameras in the industrial sector. Its slim form factor allows for integration even when space and weight are critical factors, such as on robotic arms, automated guided vehicles, or compact AMR platforms. Despite its size, the camera meets industrial protection standards (IP5x, IP65, IP67), making it built for demanding environments in manufacturing and logistics.

Reliable 3D depth data as a point cloud

Stereo mini cameras capture depth information using the stereo vision principle. Two synchronized image sensors acquire the scene from slightly different perspectives. A depth map is calculated from the differences between the two images, which can be used as a 3D point cloud. Depending on the model and application, depth measurement can be supported by actively projecting additional texture, particularly on surfaces with little structure. In scenes with sufficient natural structure, passive stereo vision can be used.

Simple and intuitive camera control

The Stereo mini is fully integrated into Basler’s proven pylon SDK. The camera is up and running quickly, without the need for complex configuration. Additional tools such as the pylon Viewer allow for immediate verification of functionality and settings. For developers who want to dive deeper, the SDK offers comprehensive APIs for C++, C#, Python, and other languages. This allows the Stereo mini to be seamlessly integrated into existing systems—from rapid prototyping to series applications.
