Software & service
Frame grabber SDK has a runtime environment for convenient testing and commissioning of the system.
Our calibration tool helps with commissioning, calibration, and synchronization of the TDI camera and components. The software uses Python open-source code.
Programming service: Our experts use VisualApplets to develop designs for efficient image preprocessing from proof of concept to a ready-to-deliver solution.
Image processing and analysis with classic (pylon vtools) or AI algorithms (pylon AI): We create robust image analysis pipelines for every conceivable application.

Cooling solutions for the TDI camera
Basler offers a flexible modular cooling concept for the racer 2 XL. Individual cooling systems are also compatible.
Compressed air cooler: High-performance external active cooling with connection variants
Cooling fins: Safe continuous operation via an external passive cooling fin system

Our TDI vision system excels in these areas of application
With integrated image preprocessing, our robust TDI vision system is ideal for demanding industrial applications where high speed and maximum sensitivity are required. It delivers detailed, high-contrast images, even in low light conditions, for a highly reliable quality assurance that minimizes rejects.

Wafer and semiconductor inspection
TDI vision systems are used in wafer and semiconductor inspection to detect the smallest defects and inhomogeneities on the wafer surface. They enable higher signal quality and belt speeds, delivering an increased throughput in inline inspection systems with the same illumination. Therefore, they offer very high light sensitivity, resolution in the micrometer range, and stable, uniform line scanning over many TDI stages.

Inspection in battery production
For the quality and safety of batteries, it is crucial to reliably detect even the smallest defects, such as particles, coating defects, or microcracks, even at high production speeds. The TDI vision system generates high-resolution images, e.g., of electrode webs and separator foils, with high data throughput. Time-synchronized integration across several TDI stages produces particularly low-noise and detailed images.
In wafer inspection systems, aligning stable imaging with process conditions is as critical as detecting fine defects. Basler TDI systems enable optimized inspection performance for each system and process through application-specific vision design. This leads to consistent inspection results while maintaining high-throughput operation.

Flat panel display inspection
Testing for defects or anomalies, such as dead pixels, color distortions, backlight bleeding, touchscreen malfunctions, particles, scratches, or line defects, is a typical application for flat panel display production and inspection (LCD, LED, OLED, QLED). Large substrates are scanned at high belt speed and a comprehensive 100% inspection is made possible in the inline process.

Optical inspection of PCBs
In the particularly fast inspection of PCBs, defects in complex components and circuit errors in the micrometer range must be detected precisely. A TDI vision system meets these requirements with a high data throughput and maximum accuracy. It delivers particularly low-noise and high-contrast images, ensuring that even the smallest defects, such as soldering defects, height deviations, and microcracks, are detected.
Acquiring images with high precision and speed, transmitting them stably over long distances in real time, and processing them without delay will be a key challenge for future high-end vision applications. Our system-level solution helps customers overcome these challenges.
