Soniya Nicole Gill - Order Coordination - Production

How was your path at Basler?

I joined Order Coordination in May 2015 straight after graduating. I have an incredibly wide range of tasks - from large-scale order management to process design. The other day I was in charge of a process transfer to Asia. Projects like this are particularly interesting because you're in contact with colleagues from Asia a lot and I had the opportunity to get to know our plant in Singapore.

What do you appreciate about Basler as an employer?

After my interview I thought "Wow, here I am right. This fits!" and my impression has been confirmed. On the one hand, you can stay yourself at Basler. On the other hand, you get the opportunity to develop yourself. As a junior, I also appreciate that I had the opportunity to try out and find myself. The open approach made it very easy to get started.

In 2017, we produced the 1,000,000 camera and broke our own production record. You were there. What was it like?

To be honest, I didn't realize what we had accomplished until the announcement. Of course, it also brought stress with it. But especially in the stressful phases, I notice how strong the cohesion is among us. What I particularly like about it is how the success is celebrated afterwards and our work is appreciated. Ever since I've been here, I've experienced an extreme growth, which is unbelievable and beautiful at the same time.

How was your path at Basler?

In the beginning, I was responsible for everything to do with cables in addition to the small production. Today, I actually only work at the production test station to make sure that everything that goes to the customer also works.

You are currently doing additional training. How is that going?

Some time ago, my boss offered me to do the technician in evening school. That's a great opportunity for me! I also manage everything very well, especially with flexitime. If I have to leave for school early or arrive a little later, no one minds.

Would you recommend Basler as an employer?

Sure, I've already done that and gained a new colleague :) Things like flexitime or the location in Neumünster simply speak for it. Our office is easy to reach, is centrally located and you can go out for a nice meal during breaks.
