Basler Introduces Compact 10GigE Cameras

Basler integrates a new generation of 10GigE cameras with RDMA and PoE functionality, along with all the necessary components. Customers receive a high-performance, compact, and scalable vision system from a single source. This reduces system complexity, integration effort, and overall costs.
Basler offers a high-performance, compact, and scalable 10GigE vision system for data-intensive applications, featuring stable data transmission, reduced CPU load, and low power consumption. Carefully matched components reduce system complexity, integration effort, and operating costs. The system combines compact, RDMA-capable ace 2 10GigE cameras, 10GigE network interface cards (RNICs), pylon software with GigE Vision 3.0 support, and compatible accessories.
The vision system reliably transmits the full 10 Gbps data rate from industrial cameras to the host PC. Multi-camera systems and applications in quality inspection, robot control, logistics, wafer inspection, and semiconductor manufacturing benefit from high bandwidth, reduced CPU load, and long-term scalability. The RDMA streaming protocol also ensures very low latency between image acquisition and processing.
10GigE vision system with optimized components
The ace 2 10GigE cameras with RJ45 connectors support PoE (Power over Ethernet) in a compact 29 mm × 29 mm x 61.5 mm format. Their small form factor facilitates integration and enables space-saving system configurations. Modern Sony Pregius S sensors in the visible and UV spectrum deliver resolutions of up to 24.4 MP and frame rates of up to 232 fps. The low power consumption of less than 7 W reduces heat generation and total costs.
Basler’s 10GigE network interface cards with RDMA are precisely designed for Basler cameras and ensure very high data rates with low CPU load. The card with RJ45 connectors supports PoE for transmitting data and power over a single cable. The cost-effective variant with an SFP+ interface, when used in conjunction with the transceiver module (SFP+ to RJ45), is suitable for professional network environments requiring low latency. A wide selection of additional components—including compatible fixed focal length and telecentric lenses for every sensor size, extensive lighting options, and cables—completes the system.
