Look Inside Life with Nanolives 3D Cell Explorer and a Basler ace USB 3.0 Camera

Swiss start-up Nanolive SA developed a revolutionary microscope that provides the first non-invasive 3D imaging of living cells. Since the cell is the basis of all life on earth, this is a major milestone in the history of microscopy.

Nanolive’s microscope offers previously unseen insights into the inner life of cells: There’s no need for a time-intensive preparatory procedure. As no chemicals or markers are used at all, the observation is completely non-invasive to the cell, and allows resolving the cell’s parts down to 200nm. The 3D Cell Explorer displays the cell in a completely new format with a comprehensive representation of its morphology, instantly and in 3D.

The 3D Cell Explorer is based on technology that works around the limits of light. The interior of the microscope features the acA2000-165um, a Basler ace USB 3.0 camera. The camera produces a hologram by combining a light beam sent through the sample against a reference beam.
