PowerPacks for Embedded Vision Applications

Our PowerPacks provide developers with all the modular components they need to evaluate Basler dart cameras and their various interface technologies (USB 3.0 or BCON for LVDS). The result: an easier process for designing them into embedded vision systems.

There are two PowerPacks available to you: a plug and play evaluation kit with a Basler dart USB camera and a development kit comprising a Basler dart camera module with a BCON for LVDS interface and a matching processing board. Both PowerPacks contain not just the camera, but also accessories such as lens and cable and the pylon Camera Software Suite SDK.

The PowerPack dart USB for Evaluation (evaluation kit) is suitable for users intending to test a Basler dart camera with a USB interface as well as for developers seeking to connect a camera via BCON for LVDS; they can use it to evaluate overall camera performance and familiarize themselves with the pylon SDK. The PowerPack for Embedded Vision (development kit) with reference implementation facilitates the actual BCON integration.

Camera System Evaluation Made Easy – with Basler’s PowerPack dart USB for Evaluation

System design engineers for imaging applications face an overwhelming range of options when choosing the right camera for their embedded vision project. If you’re currently in this situation, you know that finding the right camera and suitable accessories requires a lot of time and, thus, money. You can now shorten this process by using the Basler PowerPack dart USB for Evaluation, a plug and play evaluation kit including a Basler dart camera with a USB 3.0 interface, a suitable lens, a USB 3.0 cable, and pylon – Basler's industry-proven camera software suite.

In combination with the pylon Viewer and SDK, the PowerPack is an easy-to-use kit that contains everything to get acquainted with a Basler dart board level camera: its size, features, and excellent image quality. In addition, the evaluation kit facilitates vision integration for a variety of embedded vision systems ranging from industrial to non-industrial applications.

Your benefits include:

  • Plug and play camera system evaluation
  • No additional accessories required
  • Industry-proven pylon camera software suite included for free
  • Extremely compact, USB3 Vision compliant camera with a resolution of 5 megapixels
  • PGI – Basler’s unique feature set for powerful in-camera image optimization

Integrate Vision Easily into Your Application – with Basler's PowerPack for Embedded Vision (BCON for LVDS)

Connecting an LVDS-based module can be a complex and time-consuming task. Our PowerPack for Embedded Vision smooths the path for you, including sample hardware and software implementations for the Basler dart via BCON for LVDS interface and a compatible processing board based on the Xilinx Zynq®-7010 SoC. This allows you to familiarize yourself not just with the technical opportunities and characteristics of the BCON for LVDS interface, but also provides you with a reference implementation of the image capture algorithm and a clear set of documentation for the interface.

You can adapt principles from the sample code or use it in its entirety to integrate the camera module simply into your application, saving time and money in your own product development. In this way the PowerPack for Embedded Vision opens up new possibilities for optimizing your specific vision application — from smart vision technology and mobile inspection solutions to IoT applications.

The benefits at a glance:

  • Sample setup of a BCON connection
  • Sample implementation of an image capture algorithm, including well-documented source code
  • Supports and shortens the overall product development period
  • All necessary camera accessories included
  • Our tried-and-tested pylon Camera Software Suite included free
  • Ultra-compact Basler dart camera with BCON for LVDS interface and a resolution of 5 megapixels
