Detecting Sources of Infection Faster and More Precisely – with Basler dart USB 3.0 Cameras
The field of microbial identification continues to evolve. MALDI TOF mass spectrometry has become the new standard. Users of this technology contacted Basler’s customer BioVendor Instruments, a manufacturer of hardware and software in medical technology, with their request for process automation. This idea grew into the main concept for the MALDI COLONYST robot.
The main goal was the production of a robotics system for the automation, tracking and recording of the preparation process. This system was also intended to speed up the preparation process, make it reproducible and enable the removal of several colonies from a single Petri dish to better process more complex samples and mixed cultures without raising the costs.
The MALDI COLONYST uses no less than four Basler dart USB 3.0 cameras. Read our Success Story “Fast and precise detection of an infection source – with MALDI COLONYST® by BioVendor Instruments and Basler dart USB 3.0 cameras” if you want to find out more.
