Basler racer Line Scan Cameras Keep a Cutlery Sorting System Organized
At catering companies or large kitchens, everything revolves around cooking, which is why a sophisticated infrastructure with well-coordinated processes is essential. Basler’s customer ISW GmbH, Industrielle Sensorsysteme Wichmann GmbH, a Northern-Germany-based provider of advanced image processing solutions for production automation and measuring tasks, has developed a professional solution which sorts cutlery and significantly frees up employee capacity.
Two Basler racer line scan cameras were integrated in the customer’s flow system that are controlled with specifically developed software. The system offers myriad possibilities, such as:
- it differentiates up to 30 various cutlery pieces per set
- and up to 100 cutlery sets per system
- foreign parts are recognized and sorted out
- dark field lighting for transparent cutlery sets can be used optionally
The system recognizes up to 3500 pieces per hour, classifies them and directs them to the corresponding containers via a transport system.
