Getting Started with µManager

µManager (also called Micro-Manager) is software for controlling automated microscopes, cameras, and other peripherals for image acquisition. The software is open-source and provides an easy-to-use interface.

This Application Note instructs how to install the µManager software on computers with Windows (32 bit or 64 bit), Linux or MacOS X operating systems. The instructions assume presence of the Basler pylon 6 Camera Software Suite on the computers and only apply to Basler cameras that are operated with the Basler pylon 6 Camera Software Suite.

The following instructions are included:

• µManager - with the Basler pylon 6 Camera Software Suite already being installed
• creating a hardware configuration, i.e. associating a camera with µManager
• setting camera parameters in µManager
• acquiring images in µManager.
