Embedded Vision Solutions as Smart Sensors for IoT Applications

The Internet of Things (IoT) promises the smart linking of a wide range of sensors – particularly imaging sensors – with a cloud. There the sensor data are evaluated and intelligent decisions are made which can then initiate further workflows. It is also possible to service the sensors from the cloud, e.g. installing firmware updates for the sensors or preparing the sensors for new tasks. At the embedded world trade show 2019, Basler offered a live demonstration of how an embedded vision solution can be used as an efficient and intelligent sensor for image data classification.
