One Million Cameras: Basler ace Celebrates Production Anniversary
Recently we broke a production threshold and delivered our millionth ace camera. Our Chinese distributor MVLZ was pleased to receive this jubilee model. China is one of our most important national markets; our presence there has seen steadily increasing sales. Basler cameras are currently in high demand for applications in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing in particular. We have a close cooperation and friendship with our long-standing partner MVLZ. We are therefore very happy that the millionth ace has been delivered to this region. The jubilee model is an ace U with the IMX264 sensor from Sony's popular Pregius series.
MVLZ (Beijing Sanbao Xingye (MVLZ) Image Tech. Co.) was one of our first distribution partners in the Asian camera business. As a leader in the machine vision industry in China, MVLZ specializes in making advanced and efficient machine vision products from all over the world available to the Chinese market and meeting the growing demand for one-stop shopping along the entire image processing chain. This also includes the entire portfolio of Basler cameras and components.
For over 20 years, Basler has been successful in the digital industrial camera market. The ace with its "sugarcube" format (29 mm x 29 mm) revolutionized the image processing market in 2009. The combination of high-quality sensors, modern shutter technologies, standardized interfaces and powerful features, combined in a small housing, paved the way for the ace camera series in a wide range of applications in the field of factory automation, medicine and traffic/ITS.
Since its launch, the series has grown to over 120 models and is now one of the most successful camera families on the market. Continuous development and adaptation to customer and market needs have guaranteed the groundbreaking success of the ace series. Divided into the three product lines--ace classic, ace U and ace L--the range extends from affordable entry-level models to extremely powerful cameras.
