Electrically Powered Racing Car with Basler ace Cameras Wins World Championship Title in Autonomous Driving
Congratulations to the Akademischer Motorsportverein Zürich (AMZ) for the world championship title in autonomous driving! We are proud that our Basler ace cameras (acA2500-20gc) in the electrically powered racing car together with a Lidar system (Lidar: method for optical distance and speed measurement), enabled the autonomous driving.
The cameras were installed in the vehicle to measure the height of the course markings and calculate distances.
More about the winners:
The Akademische Motorsportverein Zürich (AMZ) was founded in 2006 by students of ETH Zurich and annually develops a prototype for various "Formula Student" competitions in Europe. After three vehicles with combustion engines, the AMZ has been building purely electrically powered racing cars since 2010.
