Now Also for the ace U 20 MP: Vignetting Correction Feature to Eliminate Unwanted Vignetting Effects
The high-performance Vignetting Correction Feature from Basler is now also available for our ace U 20 MP camera. This feature makes it possible to correct vignetting directly in the camera, which means that during the image output, customers can already benefit from more consistent brightness levels.
If the image circle of the selected lens is too small compared to the camera sensor or has the same size as the sensor, the image brightness naturally decreases towards the edge – an effect referred to as vignetting. This can severely reduce the image quality and make it difficult or impossible to inspect details at the sensor’s edges. Many users try to avoid this effect by using a larger lens. However, this solution is generally associated with higher costs.
This is where our Vignetting Correction Feature comes in: Based on a reference image, correction values are determined, stored in the camera, and then automatically taken into account during the image output. This lets you achieve more consistent brightness levels without great effort.
Even with generally matching combinations, such as a lens with a 1″ image circle and the IMX183 sensor with a 1″ format, in this case, slight vignetting might occur.
