Basler is a leading international manufacturer of imaging components for computer vision applications such as cameras, lenses, frame grabbers, software as well as embedded vision solutions, customized products and consulting services. The products are used in a variety of computer vision markets, including factory automation, medical, traffic, logistics, retail, and robotics. Founded in 1988, the Basler Group employs approximately 800 people at its headquarters in Ahrensburg and other locations in Europe, Asia and North America.

Your responsibilities

In technology development, you are given the opportunity to work on a forward-looking topic with high practical relevance. You develop your own concepts, methods or algorithms, show that your ideas work and that you can convince colleagues with your results. We attach great importance to good supervision at a high level. You can interact intensively with other students and colleagues in the team.
In order to choose the right topic for you from our wide range, we ask you to tell us which of the following areas sounds most interesting to you:

Classical digital photography is mainly about algorithms in a camera or in its immediate environment. The goal is to create or convey images that look good or machine well. Mainly classical, parsimonious computational methods are used.
In computer vision, we work primarily with artificial intelligence, e.g., deep learning. We develop and modify algorithms so that they fit e.g. industrial or medical boundary conditions. Besides image enhancement, the main goals are classification and detection.
In 3D we generate depth information with our time-of-flight camera or with novel image sensors and design 3D processing steps. Both classical and learning methods are used here.
IOT deals with the networking of devices and the distributed processing of data. In this context, we design concepts and architectures that address issues of security, authenticity and confidentiality of data.

Your qualifications

  • You study (technical) computer science, image processing, electrical engineering, physics, technical or applied mathematics, data science or a similar subject.
  • If you already have experience with Python, image processing software (e.g. OpenCV) and/or a deep learning framework, that's advantageous.
  • Your eyes light up when you face a big technical challenge.
  • You like to work independently on projects and at the same time you like to exchange ideas with your colleagues
  • Fluent German or English round off your profile

Our offer

  • We have a clear vision of where we are going, but the individual teams decide how to go about it.
  • We welcome your fresh perspective from the outside and foster an open culture where all employees are encouraged to contribute ideas
  • Things that make your job easier: Your own workplace, very modern technology equipment as well as infrastructure, "one to one" support and mobile working
  • Fair payment with internal salary transparency, flexible planning of working hours and open communication: per you from the trainee to the board of directors

Your application

Do you share our passion and ambition? Then apply by filling out the online form and uploading your CV, transcript of records and relevant references. We do not need a cover letter!
