Basler is a leading international manufacturer of imaging components for computer vision applications such as cameras, lenses, frame grabbers, software as well as embedded vision solutions, customized products, and consulting services. The products are used in a variety of computer vision markets, including factory automation, medical, traffic, logistics, retail, and robotics. Founded in 1988, the Basler Group employs approximately 800 people at its headquarters in Ahrensburg (near Hamburg) and other locations in Europe, Asia, and North America.

Around 50 team members work at the Mannheim site in Baden-Württemberg, most of whom are active in R&D. The focus of this site is on the development of frame grabbers and interface cards as well as the corresponding software.

Your responsibilities

  • As an experienced Electronics Developer, you will be responsible for the development of FPGA-based frame grabbers for industrial cameras as part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of eight people.
  • As a member of the project team, you will perform the role of an expert for electronics development and take ownership of hardware design from pre-series model to series support.
  • In this role, you will work in close collaboration with Electronics Developers from the company's Mannheim and Ahrensburg sites.
  • In the context of product development you will be responsible for circuit development and layout.
  • You will be accountable for the commissioning of assemblies as well as the supervision of activities related to test and production tools.
  • Your job description will include the task of selecting components and working in close cooperation with our purchasing department, external service providers, and our production partner.
  • Last but not least, you should enjoy working in a creative, interdisciplinary team and mastering a wide range of tasks.

Your profile

  • You will require a degree in Electrical Engineering or Technical Computer Science or comparable practical knowledge and experience.
  • Ideally, you will have gained hands-on experience in electronics development in the area of FPGA and PCI Express hardware.
  • This role calls for broad experience in the use of circuit and layout tools as well as a good understanding of high-speed design (e.g., DDR4, 10GIgE, FPGA Gigabit transceivers)
  • You will also be well versed in measurement procedures and confident in using measurement technology.
  • A good understanding of EMC measurements, simulation, or FPGA would be a decided advantage.
  • You will also have to be fully committed to best-in-class quality and a structured way of working.
  • Finally, you will need a good command of German and English.

  • We welcome your fresh outside perspective and foster an open culture in which all employees are encouraged to contribute their ideas in a self-directed manner.
  • "Work-life balance" is not just an empty phrase at Basler: we support our employees in caring for children and the elderly, e.g., in the form of various working-hour models.
  • Respect for our staff members' personal interests and reconciling these with their professional lives is an important part of our corporate culture.
  • First-class IT equipment, including notebook, mobile phone, mobile working, and a modern working environment.
  • Fair remuneration with internal wage transparency, flexitime account for overtime reduction, 30 days of vacation, and open communication: on first-name terms from trainee to board member.
