Basler Vision Technologies released its 2007 annual report on March 12th. In the 2007 fiscal year – as in previous years – turnover in the Basler Components business unit showed extremely positive development: it increased by 18% to EUR 27.5 million.

Basler is signaling a clear strategy to strengthen and leverage the Basler scout and pilot camera families by committing to new features and new sensor front-ends. The first step in this direction will be the addition of new features.

Production of the new Basler runner Gigabit Ethernet line scan camera family is starting. The Basler runner series includes seven models (six monochrome cameras and one tri-linear color camera) with 1k and 2k CCD sensors and screwable RJ-45 connectors for tight connections.

MVTec has started an partner program that provides a new environment for addressing the future requirements of more complex driver integrations. Basler's pylon software will be part of this MVTec partner program.

In March, Basler participated in the AIMEX show (Industrial Automation, Instrumentation & Measurement exhibition), which is held annually in Seoul, Korea. Product focuses were the successful Basler pilot and Basler scout area scan cameras, as well as the Basler sprint and Basler runner line scan cameras.
