By introducing a new housing variant for scout camera models, Basler is continuing along its path toward making scout series cameras a fit for nearly every space situation without compromising speed or features. Basler is using its successful platform concept for the scout camera family to make all of the sensors currently integrated into the standard housing available in the new housing. This means that our customers can choose from 9 CCD and CMOS imaging sensors both in mono and in color. It also provides a choice of GigE Vision or FireWire (IEEE 1394b) interface technology.

In May, the GenICam group gathered for a three day session with an agenda packed full of presentations and discussions. After an extended zero series phase and a number of optimizations in the camera design, Basler's new pilot cameras have passed key customer tests. And with the start of the first production batches for the majority of models, the camera family entered series production in May 2007.
