With the launch of the Basler scout and Basler pioneer camera families, at the Vision Show East in Boston, Basler will introduce two new interface technologies to the market - Gigabit Ethernet and FireWire-b™. These new technologies push the limits of the two most important demands when dealing with industrial image processing, cable length and bandwidth. Both technologies have the potential to change the interface landscape in machine vision and related applications such as medical imaging and intelligent traffic systems.

Two new camera families - Basler scout and Basler pioneer - will be introduced at the Vision Show East in Boston, USA. The cameras feature Gigabit Ethernet and FireWire-b™ interfaces and are equipped with a wide selection of CCD sensors ranging in size from VGA to 2 megapixels.

Basler's eXcite intelligent camera series now includes four new megapixel CCD models. The existing eXcite versions have VGA resolution and can capture images at up to 180 frames per second (fps). The new variants are equipped with 1.45 and 2.0 megapixel CCD sensors and are available in monochrome and color versions.

We will present several interesting innovations in the field of digital camera technology during the Vision Show East in Boston. Two new camera families - Basler scout and Basler pioneer - will be introduced. Our Vision Components team has had some changes in its personnel structure. Our additions in sales and support enable us to offer continuously excellent pre and post support and cope with the growing demand of digital cameras in our target markets. We hired four new employees in sales for our European and US customers as well as an addition in the Asian support team.

Basler-VC has opened a sales office in France and recruited Sébastien Désessard as key account manager for the French market. BFI Optilas will remain as our distributor and will continue to service established business in France. With Sébastien supporting BFI Optilas’ activities and working with key accounts, our customers will be offered a more rapid response time and differentiated market processing.
