With a resolution of 659 x 493 pixels, the new
scout camera models feature an image capture rate of 120 frames per second and high image quality. Their speed and an output of 12 bits per pixel make these cameras ideally suited for industrial applications ranging from factory automation to semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. Thanks to the excellent sensitivity of Sony‘s ICX 618 sensor, the cameras also target outdoor applications such as security or intelligent traffic systems.
The new scout models feature a compact 29 mm x 44 mm x 73.7 mm housing equipped with a C-mount adapter. CS-mount versions and a 90° angled head option are also available. All of these housing variants are valid for all GigE Vision or FireWire-b interface cameras. Both types of cable connectors, RJ-45 and FireWire-b, are equipped with screw lock holes.
Basler’s
pylon driver package uses GenICam standard technology (see also
www.genicam.org) for both data interfaces. Along with drivers and a viewer tool, the pylon SDK provides comprehensive documentation and code samples to make it easy to start using and integrating our cameras. The full pylon SDK
can be downloaded here.
The new scout scA640-120 cameras will enter series production in April 2009.
