Basler Cameras Get Tough
Basler cameras are designed to be used in an industrial environment. This means that conditions are often rougher and tougher than those in the typical consumer environment. Industrial cameras must be very robust in regard to shock and vibration, and they must be able to operate in a wide temperature range. And of course, they must remain serviceable during long term operation.

But sometimes, conditions can get especially tough. In a chipping machine environment, for example, the processing will churn up dust, dirt, and other particles. In addition, a fluid is used for cooling and splashes will occur. In food production or outdoor environments, the humidity and temperature can be high.

To address these situations, Basler can provide a robust protective housing for our cameras. It is a separate housing that covers the camera with a protective layer. The housing protects the camera against dust and jets of water. Its characteristics are related to a protection class norm from CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization - IEC 60529:1989) and meet IP (Ingress Protection) class 65. The housing is very handy and installation is easy. It provides multiple mounting positions and a unit to adjust the camera to the correct position.
