RoHS Compliance
To recognize our responsibility for the environment and to meet the requirements of our customers and the marketplace, Basler is committed to releasing environmentally friendly products as part of a Hazardous Substance Reduction initiative. This initiative is related to the European Union Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, which restricts the use of harmful substances such as lead, mercury, and cadmium in new products.

Basler recognizes that eliminating certain hazardous substances from our products is beneficial not only to the environment, but also to customers and employees. Since 2004, Basler has researched and tested methods for reducing the use of these hazardous substances. During our RoHS compliance initiative, about 4000 different components were identified and checked. For any parts that needed to be changed, the required functionality was tested and confirmed to ensure the same performance, reliability, and quality our customers expect.

Basler began offering RoHS-compliant products in 2005 and continued with the release of additional compliant products in 2006. Basler manufacturing and engineering teams are working to adapt our products to use RoHS-compliant components and to also adapt our manufacturing processes. Today, most of our product line has been transitioned to RoHS compliance. The following list shows the status of the transition:
