Basler cameras with an IEEE1394 "FireWire" interface can be used in combination with a large number of third party software libraries. Some libraries operate with their own 1394 camera driver, while others require Basler’s BCAM 1394 driver. (The BCAM driver can be downloaded from here

The list below includes several machine vision software libraries that were successfully tested with all current Basler 1394a and 1394b (scout) cameras. In the near future, most of the listed libraries will also support the new GenICam camera standard. Once this support is available, you will be able to connect our new scout and pioneer GigE Vision cameras to these libraries.
