The Basler customization team can provide a wide range of firmware adaptations, for example, Basler made a firmware extension for a fruit inspection application. During fruit production quality control, a camera captures images of the fruit. A special feature called “advanced sharpness control” monitors the sharpness level of the captured images. Due to mechanical vibrations in the system or dirt and dust in the environment, the performance of the inspection system is prone to deterioration. The sharpness control feature can detect the impact of these factors and can trigger a maintenance inspection.
