Basler Cameras for Embedded Vision Applications

Top quality, conformity to standards, USB and LVDS-based interfaces and pylon Camera Software Suite — these are just a few arguments in favor of Basler camera modules for embedded vision applications.
Basler cameras help make a wide range of embedded vision systems possible: Camera modules, for example, can be connected via USB 3.0 to a single-board computer or directly into an SoC (System-on-Chip) or FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). Basler's embedded vision cameras are available in both USB 3.0 and proprietary BCON for LVDS interface versions. Basler’s pylon Camera Software Suite makes it easier to connect cameras over a fixed programming interface (API) for camera configuration via USB 3.0 or BCON and image processing via USB 3.0.

Basler camera modules for embedded vision naturally also meet the highest quality standards and are compatible with all current machine vision standards and GenICam.

Basler dart with BCON for LVDS Interface

With Basler's proprietary BCON for LVDS interface, developed specifically for embedded vision applications, Basler dart cameras can be connected directly into an SoC or FPGA, allowing for the design of even the smallest of embedded vision systems. This is especially beneficial for mobile applications that rely on low levels of energy consumption, ultra-compact system design, all without compromising on top image quality. The image quality, performance and camera functionality in the dart camera series are easy to assess using the respective plug and play dart USB model. One particularly convenient way to handle this is to use our evaluation kit that covers all aspects of the dart USB camera. We also offer a development kit for simple evaluation of the Basler dart camera with BCON interface and as a basis for your embedded vision application.

Basler dart with USB 3.0 Interface

The extra-compact Basler dart with a standard-compliant USB 3.0 interface is highly suited for use with single-board computers. USB 3.0 is known for fast data transfer rates, but the camera module can also connect to USB 2 systems.
