Cameras in Outer Space – Basler scouts Beam Back Pictures From International Space Station (ISS)

Basler customer FluxData, Inc. built the image system assembly for the 2nd generation International Space Station Agricultural Camera (ISSAC™) that is currently operational aboard the International Space Station. In partnership with the University of North Dakota (UND) and NASA, FluxData provided a highly customized version of their FluxData FD-1665 Multispectral Camera to emulate the Green, Red and NIR spectral channels found on the LANDSAT 5TM satellite.

Please find more information and video material on this project on FluxData's website.

According to Pano Spiliotis, CEO of FluxData, “FluxData is proud to build a rugged camera design based on Basler's scout camera electronics which passed the rigors of a space launch and now provides continuous images for research, education and rapid response to natural disasters.”
