              Basler Introduces High Speed 2 Megapixel IP Cameras

              New IP Camera Model
              Basler is currently introducing two new IP camera models that offer megapixel resolution at an extraordinarily high frame rate. Each BIP2-1600-25c and BIP2-1600-25c-dn IP camera is equipped with a highly sensitive 2 megapixel (1600 x 1200) CCD progressive scan sensor, which makes them ideal for low light situations.

              Our experienced camera development team and the camera's extremely flexible encoder module made it possible to adjust the camera components so that they deliver a frame rate of 25 fps. Another factor facilitating this camera speed is the sensor's global shutter technology, i.e., exposure is started for all pixels at the same time and is stopped for all pixels at the same time. The camera's frame rate is absolutely exceptional for devices employing the types of CCD sensors commonly used in the video surveillance market and required a deep technical knowledge of camera design.
              Real-time trigger functionality, an additional feature on BIP2-1600-25c and BIP2-1600-25c-dn IP cameras, makes them especially suitable for ITS applications. This feature lets a Basler IP Camera stop its normal image capturing process when an external trigger signal is received and immediately begin capturing a new image. That way, the exact timing of the triggered image capture can be defined and stored, for example, in the image's metadata. Due to the short period of time (only few milliseconds) between the receipt of an external trigger signal and the start of a new image capture, the real-time trigger functionality in Basler IP Cameras is unique.
