Basler ace with Sony's IMX174: Alternative to CCD cameras
The new ace models feature Sony's IMX174, a CMOS sensor of the latest generation. Thanks to the global shutter sensor, the cameras offer a low noise levels, a large dynamic range of roughly 75 dB and quantum efficiencies over 70%. In this way, the new ace models achieve a new level of image quality — all at high frame rates of up to 155 fps.

The comparison with a CCD sensor with similar parameters (Sony ICX274) shows that the new ace models with Sony's IMX174 actually deliver lower noise levels even in poor lighting conditions. The mean gray value remains stable, however.

Given their outstanding image capture in poor lighting conditions, the new ace models are especially well suited for highly challenging applications in Factory Automation, Microscopy, Medical Technology and Traffic Technology.
