Basler ace USB and pylon 4 Camera Software Suite – the „Super-Duo“

              Basler ace and pylon 4
Unlike some USB 3.0 cameras, the Basler ace is fully compliant with the USB3 Vision Standard - a standard Basler knows best, because we spearheaded its development. It’s easy to configure, easy to use - and it connects your business to the future of vision technology today.

The ace USB 3.0 has the following characteristics:

              • Models from VGA to 5 MP resolution and 120 frames per second (in the first quarter of 2014 also with  10 and 14 MP)
              • High-quality and field-proven CCD and CMOS sensors
              • Ultra compact housing: 29 mm x 29 mm x 29 mm
              • Stable bandwidth of 350 MB/s
              • 56 MB frame buffer, image pre-processing, and many more useful features
              • 100% USB3 Vision Standard compliant
The pylon 4 Camera Software Suite from Basler delivers compatibility with the new USB3 Vision camera interface standard, alongside the existing compatibility with GigE Vision, IEEE 1394 and Camera Link. Because the programming interface offered by pylon is uniform for all Basler cameras, regardless of which camera interface is used, the existing programming code can be used without modification for Basler USB3 Vision cameras as well. Basler pylon 4 is also the first version to provide official support for Windows 8 (32 and 64 bit).

The new pylon 4 Camera Software Suite is now available in our Download area.

In the following videos, our Applications Engineering Manager Matthew Breit introduces on the one hand the new ace USB 3.0 area scan cameras to you, and on the other hand he explains the new features in pylon 4.
