4 Known Bugs

Under some circumstances, the setup program for the full version of the configuration tool requires that you reboot your computer. After you have rebooted the computer, an error message will appear. Close this message. Use Windows Explorer to find the SetupCctPlus_xxx.exe in the directory where you downloaded the file. To continue the installation, double-click the SetupCctPlus_xxx.exe file.

Under Windows 98, the CCT+ appears upside down. Under Windows 98 SE, it is ok.

5 Known Restrictions

By default, the CCT+ only uses the camera port when it is actually changing a setting. After the setting has been transmitted, the port becomes free and can be accessed by any other programming tool. However, when using National Instruments Max Software with the CCT+, select Options on the CCT+ and enable Keep Port Open before you select a port of the NI frame grabber. The Max software requires that the connection between the frame grabber and the camera be kept open even if there is no communication. If Keep Port Open is not enabled, the Max software will suspend image capture and show an error message each time the CCT+ closes the serial port.

Currently there is no CameraLink frame grabber available to test and configure the A504k and A504kc with maximal frame rate. So the configuration of the A504k and A504kc is not fully tested.

The demo mode of the A4, L4 and L304kc camera series does not cover the dynamic behavior of the ranges of possible settings. For example, when you change the AOI width, the range of AOI starting line settings does not change as it would if a camera were connected.

The “Free-run, edge-controlled” exposure mode will not work for the L301k and L301kc.

6 Troubleshooting

If the tool is automatically closed after start-up or if the desired port is not available on the list of selectable ports, there may be a conflict with the clser***.dll of the frame grabber.

Go on as described below:

Make sure that the frame grabber software is properly installed on your computer.

If the software is not installed, install it, restart the computer and restart the CCT+.

The frame grabber installation includes a file named clser***.dll, where the *** is a string of letters identifying the frame grabber manufacturer. The location where the clser***.dll is installed differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. The CCT+ expects to find it in %SystemRoot%\system 32. (%SystemRoot% = the root directory for your operating system. For example, with Windows 2000, the system root directory is WINNT.) If necessary, please copy clser***.dll to your %SystemRoot%\system 32 directory.
If you find that the frame grabber software is properly installed but you are still having problems, use the CCT+ diagnostic tool:

Open Windows Explorer, select C:\ Program Files\ Basler\ CCTPlus\ and double-click PortDialog.bat (default installation).

A file named PortDiag.log is generated in the same folder.

Send the PortDiag.log file to Basler Technical Support.
