Ahrensburg, den 29. Mai 2008 – Basler AG – one of the international leading companies in the Vision Technology sector – has received large new orders from Flat Panel Display makers.

After the announcement of a > 6 mill. Euro Color-Filter inspection machine order from Taiwan-based AU-Optronics (AUO) earlier this year, now Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) – also a large Taiwanese manufacturer of Flat Panel Displays – has decided to equip their new production lines with Basler Color-Filter inspection technology. Like with the AUO-project, Basler will also carry-out the CPT-order in close collaboration with a local machine building company, which takes care for the process automation. This setup allows Basler to focus on its core competence in the area of Vision Technology and to improve the competitiveness of the total solution. The second large-size order for Color-Filter inspection machine in a short time frame proves the new strategy of the “Basler Solutions” business segment to be working fine in the Flat Panel Display market.

In addition to the CPT-project Basler has recorded significant new orders from the leading manufacturer of Flat Panel Display glass for bare glass inspection machines.

With the new bookings, which have a total volume of more than 5 mill. Euro, Basler is further increasing its market share in the inspection machine market for bare and coated Flat Panel Display glass.
