Chief Executive Officer

Dietmar Ley has been the CEO of Basler Vision Technologies since 2000, succeeding Norbert Basler in this position. He is responsible for the Business Units, Product Development and Human Resources. Dietmar Ley joined Basler in 1993 after earning his doctorate with a thesis in the field of machine vision. He was appointed to Basler’s executive management team in 1996. Before joining Basler, he has worked for Philips, Siemens und Alcatel. Dietmar Ley also adresses Vision Technology topics outside of Basler: In 2003, he joined the Management Board of the VDMA’s Machine Vision department - the largest German federation of vision technology companies - and was voted in as President in 2005. Since 2004, he has also served on the board of the Automated Imaging Association (AIA).
