Basler, Inc., a division of Basler AG located in Exton, PA is expanding into the security and surveillance industry with its line of digital cameras, and is currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager/Sales Engineer to develop and manage this business throughout the United States. Skills Required
• Extensive sales experience from a related industry/market
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Focused on understanding applications, customer requirements and can establish a network of contacts in the industry
• The ability to effectively sell to a wide variety of companies/contacts
• Technical affinity and/or basic knowledge of network video and IP camera technology
• Must demonstrate ownership of problems and opportunities by seeing them through to successful resolution
• Must have a record of successfully identifying and securing new business
• Strong motivation to create new business
• Acts as a team player in a small dynamic organization
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
Position Description
The function of this position is to establish a strong network of indirect sales channels (distributors and system integrators) as well as generate revenues by building strong and profitable OEM customer relationships.
Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Revenue;
• Responsible for achieving assigned revenue goals by establishing new customer relationships.
• Maintain knowledge of Basler and competitive products and have the ability to present the unique advantages to customers via phone and face to face presentations.
• Develop a good working relationship with other industry participants in order to facilitate lead sharing and joint project pursuit (especially Video Management and Video Analytics companies).
• Develop the ability to understand who our target customers are and what projects are viable to pursue so that time is spent efficiently
2. Channel partners:
• The salesperson is responsible for covering his assigned territory with effective representatives and distributors.
• The salesperson is responsible for developing a yearly business plan for each channel partner and helping them to achieve the desired results.
• The salesperson is responsible for maximizing the effectiveness of customer/channel partner visits through proper planning, monitoring and corrective action.
3. Administration:
• The salesperson is responsible for submitting timely and accurate forecasts and any other required information including weekly reports and utilization of ACT for all customer information.
• Effectively utilize support resources locally and in Germany
• Responsibly manage loaner equipment to maximize revenue and minimize losses.
4. Other:
• Develop sufficient application knowledge to be effective in helping customers solve problems
• Provide feedback on the marketing of new or established products, competitive activities and suggestions for new product features and ways of doing business
• The salesperson must have an understanding of the business unit objectives (types of desired business, target pricing levels, etc.) and act accordingly in day to day activities
• Work, walk and network industry tradeshows
